Inexperienced Drivers
Transport America Driving Opportunities Inexperienced Drivers Transport America offers a variety of driving opportunities to meet the unique needs of our drivers and customers. Transport America has operating authority in all 48 states and Canada, but the majority of freight originates and terminates east of I-35. With a focus on building density in key lanes, Transport America is better able to serve customers and provide more home time options for our drivers. Driver opportunities within our network include: OTR Division – Drivers in our over-the-road division will haul freight across all points of our network. In over 60% of our hiring area, our drivers can get home on a weekly basis (many times on the weekend but not guaranteed). Drivers outside these areas can expect to get home every 10 to 14 days. 2005 average earnings for all drivers in our OTR Division was $53,638. Driver Instructor – Transport America has been developing new drivers for the past 20 years and takes pride in having one of the best training programs in the industry. At Transport America, new driver training is conducted utilizing a solo driver approach – no teaming. This provides our new drivers with more quality instruction and behind the wheel learning time. Driver Instructors at Transport America are an elite team – if you are interested in becoming a member, please contact your Support Center Manager after coming on board. Team Drivers – Transport America offers a variety of options for team drivers. Recognizing that teams must keep moving to maximize earnings, Fleet team managers at Transport America plan and dispatch their teams to maximize productivity. Top company team pay in 2005 $119,411, top Owner Operator team compensation in 2005 $289,386 including fuel surcharge.
