Transport America is taking pay to the next level for our Owner Operators. Beginning July 1st, 2006, Owner Operators will see their line haul pay increase to 90 cents per mile. That's on all dispatched miles - loaded and empty. This rate increases to 91 cents per mile on September 1st, 2006 and 92 cents per mile effective November 1st, 2006. At Transport America, our Owner Operators are our business partners and we recognized that their costs - like ours - continue to rise. That's why we made the decision to increase pay at this time.
To help manage fuel costs, Transport America continues to provide an aggressive fuel surcharge, adjusted weekly, which is also paid on all miles - loaded and empty. In addition, we offer terminal fueling (typically at reduced rates compared to truck stops), fuel optimization and fuel rebates at designated truck stops including Pilot and Flying J. Transport America continues to lead the industry in accessorial pay - and we provide weekly settlements through Direct Deposit or Express Cash.
Transport America offers additional savings for their Owner Operators by paying for base plates and permits. We offer discounted service and maintenance for your equipment at all of our full service support centers. We also offer a national tire purchase program along with reduced pricing on parts and service at thousands of vendors.
